ATHLETE

Hometown: Boulder, Colorado
Birthday: 08/02/2007
Sport/Disciplines: Jumping / Equitation
High School Graduation Year: 2025

I began riding lessons at the age of 7 and by 9 competed in Sport Horse Nationals. I later lessoned in vaulting, barrel racing, 4H, dressage, IEA and finally show jumping in 2020. My goal is to become a Collegiate Athlete. My dream is to become a Grand Prix rider and eventually an Olympian.

SMALL BEGINNINGS

At birth, I weighed 3 lbs 11 oz. It took some determination to thrive in an incubator with a feeding tube over six weeks. Finally, at 4 lbs., the doctor let me go home. My Occupational Therapist suggested I enroll in a “gymnastics class, later on, to catch up”. At 18 months, I enrolled in a 2-4-year-old gymnastics class.  To everyone’s amazement, I outperformed everyone -including the four-year-olds.  It turns out determination is my thing.

My determination to achieve life goals is fueled by my connections with and empathy for others. This gives me the strength to overcome obstacles. It both strengthens and humbles me in the face of life’s challenges.

I started show jumping in 2020 and have never thought of another sport since. I hope my love of the sport and athletic ability open doors for me to pursue this sport professionally.

ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

With the right attitude, you can accomplish any goal.  I am often surprised by what a horse can do if you are convinced it is possible. I am convinced good riding is establishing the right relationship with the horse you are working with at the moment.
